QuickBooks, running properly for the whole office

QuickBooks is where the money lives, and it is also the application most likely to be running on a network share nobody designed, with a company file that has been growing since 2014.

QuickBooks help, from engineers who run it

Tell us what is happening and an engineer who works in QuickBooks every week will come back to you.

Or call (602) 677-0779. We reply within one business day, usually the same day.

What we walk into

The QuickBooks problems we see most

  • Multi user mode that drops people out, or refuses to start at all
  • A company file that has grown large enough to crawl
  • File corruption at exactly the wrong point in the month
  • Everyone running as admin because permissions were never worked out
  • Remote access improvised during 2020 and never revisited
  • Backups that do not actually include the company file

If you recognised more than two of those, the free assessment will tell you which ones are actually urgent and what each costs to fix.

What we handle

  • Multi user setup done properly. Database server manager, hosting mode, firewall rules and folder permissions configured so the file opens and stays open.
  • Performance. File size, network path, disk speed and antivirus exclusions, which between them explain nearly every slow QuickBooks installation we have seen.
  • Corruption and recovery. Verify and rebuild, restoring from a known good backup, and identifying what caused it so it does not repeat.
  • Secure remote access. Proper remote access to the file, rather than a consumer remote tool left running and exposed.
  • Backup that includes the company file, verified rather than assumed, with tested restores.
  • Hosted, desktop or online. We support all three and will tell you honestly which one fits how your team actually works.

Straight answers

QuickBooks questions we get

Why does QuickBooks slow down over the years?

Usually a combination of company file growth, the file sitting on a slow or wireless network path, and antivirus scanning it in real time. Those three account for most cases, and all three are fixable without buying anything.

Can you fix a corrupted company file?

Often. Verify and rebuild resolves many cases, and a clean restore from a good backup resolves the rest. What matters more is finding the cause, which is usually an improper shutdown, a network drop mid write, or antivirus interference.

Should we move to QuickBooks Online?

Depends on your workflow. Online is easier to support and access remotely, but some desktop features do not have equivalents. We will tell you plainly whether your particular setup would survive the move.

Is our QuickBooks data backed up?

Worth checking rather than assuming. We regularly find backups covering a documents folder while the company file lives somewhere else entirely, or a backup running against a file that is locked open all day.

Not sure whether QuickBooks is your actual problem

That is what the free assessment is for. We look at the whole environment, not just the thing you called about, and tell you plainly where the real bottleneck is.
